Centerplate Names Doug Clements as General Manager, Operations

Food service and racetrack veteran Clements brings strong growth and operations background to Centerplate executive team

STAMFORD, Conn., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the hospitality partner to North America's premier convention centers and sports stadiums, announced today the hiring of Doug Clements as general manager of operations. Clements brings to Centerplate more than twenty years of restaurant and sports venue operations management experience with a strong growth record. His accomplishments include serving as general manager for Balmoral Race Track, director of operations for Park Grill Food Services, director of food and beverage operations for the 2002 Breeder Cup, as well as other high-profile national sporting events.

As general manager of operations, Clements will be responsible for soliciting new business opportunities in addition to providing leadership to current operations, maximizing guest satisfaction and driving returns. His strong track record and accomplishments include increasing scheduled dates for the 2006 season at Balmoral Race Track by an unprecedented 25 percent and opening a large-scale six million dollar restaurant at Park Grill Food Services that was quickly rated one of Chicago Magazine's "Top 10 Restaurants." In addition, his direction of the 2002 Breeder's Cup involved one year of planning and construction of multifunctional concession tents, guest villas and a fourteen hundred capacity dining tent, serving forty-six thousand racing fans with outstanding results.

"We are excited to bring aboard Doug Clements to our executive team. His record of exceptional operations management, service, and revenue building make him the top choice to assist in Centerplate's business development," said Des Hague, CEO of Centerplate.

The new hire underscores Centerplate's commitment to creating extraordinary hospitality experiences for its guests while increasing returns for its clients. The news comes on the heels of last week's announcement that Centerplate received the 'best new idea' award from the Association of Luxury Suite Directors (ALSD) for its 2008 'Loft Menu.'
