XOsoft Launches Data Recovery App

XOsoft Launches Data Recovery App

XOsoft has released a data recovery program to enable enterprises to undo application and database server corruption and return their data to a consistent state quickly.

The new application, dubbed Data Rewinder, doesn't rely on periodic snapshots but is instead designed to continuously capture application- or database-specific transactions and modifications and journal them for recovery purposes.

In the event of data corruption, administrators can use Data Rewinder to, well, rewind the damaged data to the latest consistent state.

Data Rewinder is supposed to store rewind logs of all I/O operations that result in changes to data or to attributes of files and directories such as write, remove, rename and change ownership.

Data Rewinder supports Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server and Oracle. Pricing ranges from $995 for a Standard Server to $2,395 for an Advanced Server version.

The software currently supports Windows, Solaris and Linux.

Apparently, the Rewind technology can be customized for applications and databases of any type.

XOsoft also upgraded its WANSync WAN-based business continuance product suite. Rev 3.5 is supposed to let administrators monitor and manage all application and database scenarios within a single view and generate detailed activity reports.
